VOYEUR HOUSE is located on one of the most charming hills in the city of Coimbra. Fully south-facing, with a privileged view of a real postcard of the city of Coimbra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Extravagant and egocentric in its desire to float above the landscape, this house could never happen within the city centre. The house was purposely designed as an observation point.

Approached from below, the view gradually reveals itself through small openings and finally arrives at a large open terrace. The living spaces extend outwards through large windows that open onto the terrace, transforming the house into a modern, panoramic space - both inside and out. On the suspended terrace there is a jacuzzi built into the floor that is controlled by home automation.

The entire south façade is glazed throughout, creating a bright and cosy atmosphere in every space.

The warmth of the walnut woodwork in combination with the Mortex and Microcement finish skilfully conceals the technological level of the house - with home automation, and hydronic underfloor heating that is supported by a heat pump that performs both heating and cooling.

The roof has a structure for producing electricity with 32 photovoltaic panels, which can be stored in a 10 kW battery, making it totally sustainable.

The movable wooden shutters not only evoke the memory of the neighbouring monastery, but also guarantee privacy for the interior spaces and provide sun protection in an elegant and subtle way. Open and closed, the house constantly adapts to the needs of its occupants - an inert structure becomes an organic dwelling.
